Online photo sharing

I love flickr and, in particular, The Commons on Flickr. Looking at people's photos from the most amateur through to more spectacular professional images is such a privilege. Also, scanning through the many images held in the world' s cultural instutions is fasinating.

Some of my favourite images on Flickr Commons are those from the Brooklyn Museum's Paris Exposition of 1900 set. The one here is titled Paris Exposition: main entrance gate by M. Binet, Paris, France, 1900. See more photographs from the Paris Exposition of 1900.

Learning to blog

Blogging is a great way to learn and discover new things or to simply catch up on the latest in one's areas of interest.

I think the State Library of Queensland's JOL blog is very interesting. I think it is a great way for the John Oxley Library to reach out to the Queensland community and beyond. I also love the indicommon blog, read more about it at http://www.indicommons.org/about/ This blog represents outreach from the Flickr Commons group beyond Flickr, to broaden knowledge of The Commons among the public and civic institutions around the world and to increase participation by the public in the Commons.
